Market Now: Stocks that surged over 10% on Tuesday

NEW DELHI: Shares of GTL Infra (up 19 per cent), Housing & Urban Development Corporation (up 12.66 per cent), Alicon Castalloy (up 11.65 per cent) and Uttam Value Steel (up 10 per cent) surged over 10 per cent on NSE in Tuesday's trade.

Benchmark indices Nifty50 and Sensex remained firm after hitting all time high at 9,830.05 and 31,885.11 respectively.

The bourses surged on account of the prevailing optimism before the announcement of March quarter results of bluechip companies.

Shares of Monte Carlo Fashions (up 8.83 per cent), S Chand & Company (up 8.77 per cent), Prime Focus (up 8.59 per cent), Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (up 8.42 per cent) and Central Depository Services (India) (up 8.03 per cent) too saw upward mobility on NSE.

From the Nifty basket of shares, 33 were advancing while 18 were declining.

Tata Motors (up 2.93 per cent) was the top Nifty gainer, while Cipla (down 1.65 per cent) emerged as top loser.

The overall market breadth was positive as Nifty50 was trading at 9,821.75, up 0.52 per cent, while BSE Sensex was trading at 31,850.10, up 0.42 per cent.
